I am a dedicated practitioner of the health and well-being of the body, mind, spirit, and soul. My commitment is to working with individuals to heal their whole system through a multidisciplinary and personalized approach by touching many aspects of one's life, including physical, emotional, spiritual, nutritional, and historical imprints. I believe healing is an integral and whole experience unique to individual ecology. I am committed to exploring what makes us feel healthy, happy, and whole.
I believe that we are intrinsically powerful beings with the capability to have radical healing experiences, to enhance our lives with joy, to release trauma that affects us in our lifetime, as well as generational suffering that affects us all.
My path began at a young age studying yoga and transpersonal psychology along the side of my family on a homestead in upstate NY. My individual path was awakened in Western Massachusetts with a college mentor and professor who radically changed my mental models about the world. My studies were richly steeped in deep ecology, sustainability for the heart, mind, community, and planetary ecosystems. My studies lead me to India, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Colombia where I studied traditional cultural relationships to plants, food, traditional craft and ways of living, and the processes of uncovering and moving towards the self. During this time I also spent 6 years dedicated to the study and practice of B.K.S. Iyengar-style yoga with a teacher in Northampton, MA receiving a 200-hour RYT.
My relationship to food as a healing medicine became my gateway to understanding the relationship to the self. I have followed a whole foods vegetarian diet since childhood and was further awoken during this time of studying the power of the Earth and the relationship to regenerative community agriculture. My path with food deepened in my hometown of Ithaca, NY where I studied with a gifted macrobiotic and natural food chef for several years eventually becoming her kitchen manager and mastering culinary food skills. I have studied and certified in a variety of whole food nutrition and functional nutrition courses and serving clients.
As I began to seek healing from the path of my own life, I was eventually led to live in California where I found a teacher and began to practice traditional uses of entheogenic plants to heal the body, mind, and spirit. A thread of my work has been healing generational trauma, this has come in the form of getting in touch with the honest power of the sacred feminine and through family constellations.
I believe in empowering the choice to heal. I feel that many of the everyday disturbances and diseases are a result of our disconnection from nature, the essence of our beings.
I am here to empower individuals to engage in the spirit and path of healing by reconenctiong with the Self and to inspire our connection between the body, mind, emotions, spirit, and healthy living to eat, drink, think, and breathe. Life is a living practice. I am committed to the exploration of what makes us healthy, happy, safe, connected, well, and whole from the center of the Self to family units, community systems, to global networks and constellations.
There seems to be some agreement that humanity is at a great crossroads, we can feel the effect of what is happening globally. We are affected by our society both in the ways that we have the privilege and in the ways that we suffer. We need help bringing conscious awareness of the suffering caused by the impact of the destruction and extinction of life, exploitation, social injustice, stealing and oppression, sexual misconduct, unmindful speech, polluted water and land, and overconsumption. Awareness can bring sorrow, but awareness brings light to help our people cultivate good health, compassion, loving-kindness, responsibility, deep listening, and forgiveness. Transformation of the self and of society is possible.
As a result of this stress, disconnection, and disassociation, many people find themselves battling addictions, family crises, stomach and gut problems, “undiagnosable” diseases with real symptoms, auto-immune disorders, and mental ailments. I have a special and unique interest and understanding that the body, specifically the gut, the endocrine, adrenal, and thyroid systems, have a special relationship with the mind. When we experience trauma, these systems are deeply affected and wounded. When working with the body to reboot these systems, it is imperative to work with the mind to awaken and release the trauma. When we work on the mind, it is essential that we create a platform for healing the body.
Over the years, I have gathered many skills to become a healthy lifestyle practitioner, combining functional nutritional therapy with the ancient wisdom of traditional ways of healing, including herbalism, mind-body medicine, yoga, and counseling support. My goal is to bring inspiration and healing by empowering personal change, helping you get in touch with your body's wisdom and diet, and releasing tensions that affect the mind, body, and spirit. We all have intuitive healing powers when we are guided to make informed choices, learn to choose our healing allies and find rhythms, routines, and rituals that help us stay embodied. As you heal, you will naturally want to help others heal. As we each heal the health of our body through diet and movement, our minds through meditation and releasing our story, and our healing of the spirit by empowering ourselves to be in full expression, we begin to heal generations forward and back
I am inspired by the vision of social change, healing the planet and living in peace. On the ground level my inspiration comes from the natural world and the mystery that connects all of life. I enjoy coming into close contact with different food and medicine cultures and practices and learning about foods, spices, herbs, and plants used as medicine and in rituals around the world. My experience in local, seasonal, plant-based cuisine and diet for health and disease management is inspired by plant-based foods, wild-crafted edibles, herbs, fermented foods, macrobiotics, Ayurveda, raw foods, juicing, fasting, and detox therapies. Inspired by the magnificent wonder of the natural world the abundance of plant medicines, herbs, foods, fruits, and roots, and believes that food is a lifelong journey towards spiritual awareness. I am also inspired by music, dance, and the teachings of ancient mind-body practices such as yoga and mindful meditation.
It is my honor to serve. Today I am also traveling the path of working with plant medicines and traditional cultural ways of healing blended with counseling therapies, nutrition, and embodiment practices such as yoga and dance.
